Craigie Leisure Centre Conditions of Entry

  1. Customers are admitted to the Craigie Leisure Centre (Centre) at their own risk. Please adhere to any signage or notices throughout the Centre and take necessary precautions.
  2. There are conditions of entry and use, specific to each area, located throughout the Centre. You are required to read and comply with these conditions for the duration of your visit.
  3. The Centre is owned and operated by the City of Joondalup (City). The City is subject to the provisions of the Local Government Act 1995 (WA) (Act). Pursuant to the Act, the City has enacted the Local Government and Public Property Local Law 2014 (as amended from time to time) (Property Local Laws) pursuant to which all customers visiting the Centre must comply with. 
  4. These terms and conditions are subject to the City’s Property Local Laws. A copy of these City’s Property Local Laws can be found here: www.joondalup.wa.gov.au 
  5. Customers are to treat staff with courtesy and respect. Any disrespectful or offensive behaviour towards employees will not be tolerated.
  6. The City reserves the right to refuse entry to any person at any time, or to remove any person who is reasonably suspected of disruptive, disorderly or anti-social behaviour from the Centre, including but not limited to threatening behaviour towards staff or other customers, swearing, gaining, or attempting to gain unauthorised access, or property damage and theft. A warning or banning letter may be issued by the City to any customer who engages in any of these behaviours.
  7. Children under the age of 11 years must be supervised by an adult or person over the age of 16 years at all times while in the Centre.
  8. Children under the age of six years must be supervised in the changerooms by an adult or person over the age of 16 years. Children under the age of six years are permitted into the changerooms of the opposite gender. Family changerooms are provided for parents who wish to accompany a child aged over six years into a changeroom.
  9. No animals or pets are admitted into the Centre, with the exception of guide dogs.
  10. The City is not responsible for loss, damage or theft of personal property.
  11. Lost personal property will be collected daily and kept for three (3) weeks. Water bottles are disposed of for hygiene purposes.
  12. Security cameras operate within the Centre; customers may be filmed.
  13. This is a non-smoking Centre. Smoking is not permitted within any indoor or outdoor areas. Smoking is also not permitted outside, within 10 metres of the building.
  14. Alcohol is prohibited in the Centre. Any customer suspected to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted into the Centre.
  15. The use of all cameras, including those on mobile devices, is prohibited in the Centre, unless prior approval is obtained from staff.
  16. The use of mobile phones and cameras is prohibited in all changerooms.
  17. Photos may be taken by authorised City photographers for promotional and related purposes in City publications, online or on the City’s social media channels. The copyright remains with the City. Customers who do not wish to have their photo taken should make this known to a staff member.
  18. These conditions of entry are subject to change without prior notice. Management reserves the right to refuse entry. Refusal to comply with these conditions of entry may result in removal of the non-compliant customer from the Centre.

Pools and Water Play Park Conditions
  1. There are general conditions of entry and use to the Craigie Leisure Centre (Centre), displayed and located at the front entrance of the Centre. You are required to read and comply with these conditions. A copy of these general conditions of entry can be found in this link: craigieleisurecentre.com.au/conditions-of-entry  
  2. Access to the swimming pools and water play park is via a user pays principle; a valid/current membership or casual entry fee applies for access to these areas. A spectator fee applies to all non-swimming customers entering the swimming pool and water play park areas.
  3. Customer clothing must be clean, designed for an intended use in a swimming environment and be fit for purpose. Bathers, rashies, burkinis and board shorts are appropriate examples. Outfits that hinder movement, such as mermaid tails, are not permitted for safety reasons.
  4. Glass bottles or other articles containing glass and sharp objects are not to be brought into the swimming pools and water play park area.
  5. The activity of ‘breath holding’ or commonly known as ‘free diving’ is not permitted in the swimming pools.
  6. Children who are not toilet trained must wear an appropriate swimming nappy.
  7. Customers entering the swimming pools shall not carry out any form of commercial or business activity without express consent first being obtained. Management will determine the suitability of the services offered and any potential services will be undertaken at the providers’ own risk.
  8. Children under the age of six (6) years must be accompanied in the water by an adult or person over the age of 16 years at all times.
  9. Outdoor surfaces may be hot; please check the surface before use.
  10. Do not climb on, or interfere with, any water feature equipment.
  11. All outdoor pool and water play park areas will close during thunder and lightning storms.
  12. All pool water, and water distributed from the play park features, is unsuitable for drinking.
  13. Customers must follow the Lap Lane Etiquette, displayed in the swimming pool areas, at all times.

Spa Lounge and Outdoor Saunas Conditions
  1. There are general conditions of entry and use to the Craigie Leisure Centre (Centre), displayed and located at the front entrance of the Centre. You are required to read and comply with these conditions. A copy of these general conditions of entry can be found in this link: craigieleisurecentre.com.au/conditions-of-entry  
  2. Access to the spa lounge and saunas is via a user pays principle; a valid/current membership or casual entry fee applies for access to these areas.
  3. Customer clothing must be clean, designed for an intended use in a swimming environment and be fit for purpose. Bathers, rashies, burkinis and board shorts are appropriate examples. Outfits that hinder movement, such as mermaid tails, are not permitted for safety reasons.
  4. A wristband must be worn at all times and shown to staff when requested.
  5. Customers must be aged 16 years or over to use the spa lounge and saunas.
  6. Glass bottles or other articles containing glass and sharp objects are not to be brought into the spa lounge and outdoor sauna areas.
  7. Outdoor surfaces may be hot; please check the surface before use.
  8. All outdoor pool areas (including the outdoor saunas) will close during thunder and lightning storms.
  9. All pool and spa water, and water distributed from the play park features, is unsuitable for drinking.
  10. Customers are required to shower before and after use. Showers are located adjacent to the spa lounge and opposite the water play park.
  11. A towel must be brought to each session, and customers must sit on their towel when using the steam room and sauna.
  12. Water is not to be poured over the sauna room element.
  13. Essential oils (including eucalyptus) are not to be used.
  14. Personal grooming is not permitted.
  15. For your health and safety, the recommended use for the spa, sauna and steam room is ten (10) minutes.
  16. If you are pregnant, or have pre-existing health conditions, please seek medical advice prior to using the spa lounge and outdoor saunas.
  17. Plunging into the 25m and 50m lanes, designated for lap swimming, is not permitted. Customers may use the designated walking lane and must shower prior to entering the pool.

Group Fitness Conditions
  1. There are general conditions of entry and use to the Craigie Leisure Centre (Centre), displayed and located at the front entrance of the Centre. You are required to read and comply with these conditions. A copy of these general condition of entry can be found in this link: craigieleisurecentre.com.au/conditions-of-entry  
  2. Access to group fitness classes is via a user pays principle; a valid/current membership or casual entry fee applies for access to these areas.
  3. Customers must be aged 13 years or over to participate in a class and must attend under adult supervision if aged under 16 years.
  4. Customers aged from 16 to 17 years can participate in a class once written permission from a parent / guardian has been obtained.
  5. Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your class.
  6. Suitable sport or fitness clothing, and enclosed footwear, must be worn at all times. Footwear is not required to be worn for yoga and pilates classes.
  7. A towel must be brought to each class.
  8. Equipment must be wiped down after use using the antibacterial wipes provided.
  9. Please bring a mat to classes involving floor work.
  10. Each class commences with a warm up. For safety reasons, entry will be refused once the scheduled commencement time of a class has passed.
  11. Purchase or collect your ticket from reception or the self service kiosk prior to entry. No ticket, no entry.
  12. Please ensure you let the instructor know if you are new to a class or have any injuries or illness which may require supervision or an alternative exercise.
  13. Please pack away all equipment at the conclusion of your class. For the safety of other participants, please do not pack equipment away during the class.

Gym Conditions
  1.  There are general conditions of entry and use to the Craigie Leisure Centre (Centre), displayed and located at the front entrance of the Centre. You are required to read and comply with these conditions. A copy of these general conditions of entry can be found in this link: craigieleisurecentre.com.au/conditions-of-entry  
  2. Access to the gym is via a user pays principle; a valid/current membership or casual entry fee applies for access to this area.
  3. Customers must be aged 13 years or over to enter the gym and must attend under adult supervision if aged under 16 years.
  4. Customers aged from 13 to 15 years can only use cardiovascular equipment, unless prescribed specific exercises and are under the supervision of a strength and conditioning coach.
  5. Customers aged 16 and 17 years can undertake unsupervised resistance training once a qualified staff member has:
    1. Assessed the customers’ pre-exercise questionnaire.
    2. Written and supervised an initial resistance training process for the customer.
  6. Suitable sport or fitness clothing, and enclosed footwear, must be worn at all times. 
  7. A towel must be brought to each gym session.
  8. Equipment must be wiped down after use using the antibacterial wipes provided.
  9. Customers entering the gym shall not carry out any form of commercial or business activity without express consent first being obtained. Management will determine the suitability of the services offered and any potential services will be undertaken at the providers’ own risk.
  10. The conditions of entry are subject to change without notice. Management reserves the right to refuse entry. Refusal to comply with these conditions of entry may result in removal of the non-compliant customer from the Centre.

Sports Courts Conditions
  1.  There are general conditions of entry and use to the Craigie Leisure Centre (Centre), displayed and located at the front entrance of the Centre. You are required to read and comply with these conditions. A copy of these general conditions of entry can be found in this link: craigieleisurecentre.com.au/conditions-of-entry  

  2. Access to the sports courts is via a user pays principle; a casual entry, booking or team payment is required for access.

  3. Participants in the Centre’s team sports competition must abide by the Team Sports By-Laws, available at craigieleisurecentre.com.au.

  4. Suitable sport or fitness clothing, and enclosed non-marking footwear, must be worn at all times.

  5. The conditions of entry are subject to change without notice. Management reserves the right to refuse entry. Refusal to comply with these conditions of entry may result in removal of the non-compliant customer from the Centre.
