Contemporary Art

Contemporary, traditional and abstract arts with acrylic, oil, pastel and/or mixed media are designed for those that love to explore. This course gives you the choice of working with your favourite medium or venturing into all. All levels are welcome.

Contemporary, traditional and abstract styles and techniques will be demonstrated with your choice of photographs or creative drawings. Some of the mediums introduced on this journey are ink, pastels, oil pastels, acrylic paint, oil paint, charcoal and textured mediums (for example, compound paste). Come along and enjoy the exciting world of colour and media.

Requirements

At the first lesson, the instructor will discuss the mediums, styles and techniques of contemporary painting. Bring along the supplies you already have to this class and some items can even be purchased term by term to reduce costs. You can purchase from Jackson’s Drawing Supplies or other art suppliers.

Customers can try a class before enrolling for the term. Come and Try classes are available from week three of the term for first time attendees only. Maximum of two Come and Try classes per term.
